Karen, I just wanted to say thank you – not just for giving my older daughter Eve hours of pleasure reading your books, but for getting her younger sister Amber interested in reading too! Eve pointed out the first in the 'You, Me and Thing' series to Amber in the local bookshop, and for the first time ever, Amber was enthusiastic about starting a book! We're onto number 2 now... and loving it. Eve and Amber's very happy mum!

I hate my big sister because she bosses me around, teases me in front of my friends, teases me in front of her friends and calls me Smelly. But I can just about forgive her now that she is letting me borrow her Karen McCombie books! We both love, love LOVE them (even if we don't always love, love, LOVE each other!!). Ellie (NOT Smelly)

Dear Karen, I came to see you in Bath, when you were talking along with Cathy Cassidy, Joanne Nadin and Samantha MacKenzie. You signed my copy of 'Six Words And A Wish' (thank you!). You did a little doodle too, which you said was supposed to be a heart, but I think it looks more like a squashed bug. But that's okay! I - um - like squashed bugs. Please come back to Bath soon! Miss Beanie Boo PS My mum mum says she liked the shoes you were wearing!!

Hi Karen!
Just to let you know the 7 Stella etc. books (from your competition) arrived today and I am going to LOVE reading them! Thanks for everything - I'm so lucky! I've read the Ally's World series and loved that loads. Hopefully this series will be awesome too!

OK, so I'm hooked on 'Ally's World'! The books are flawless and funny - everything you need to have a good read. Can I just say you are doing an amazing job of being my favourite author! I'm sending you a cyber pat on the back...

I just wanted to write to you and say thank you for... a) visiting my school this year, and b) getting me back into reading with your fab books!! I used to LOVE reading when I was at primary school, but I've been so busy at secondary that I sort of went off it... till you came and spoke about your new book (Six Words and a Wish). I've now read that, 'An Urgent Message of Wowness', the 'Sadie Rocks' series, and am half-way through 'The Seventeen Secrets of the Karma Club'. My mum says she can hardly get me to go to school, I'm so busy ready in the morning! Amie PS Mum says thank you too!

When you came to my school last week, you mentioned a group blog that you belong to, along with lots of other authors who write for girls. I looked at it and it is very cool! For anyone who wants to peek at it, it's called http://girlsheartbooks.wordpress.com/ From a girl who *hearts* books!

I'm sorry to have to tell you, Ms McCombie, but my dog Simba is not your biggest fan; yesterday she chewed my copy of 'The Raspberry Rules', and it's made it very hard to read the bottom right-hand corner of many of the pages. (I'm not a big fan of Simba's at the moment...) Lauren (13)
