OK, so I thought my interview on Fun Kids radio was happening at 4pm today (Wednesday 21st), but just heard it's going to be around 6.45pm, so you still have time to hear it. You can listen on digital radio or the Fun Kids website: www.funkidslive.com And yes, I am still nervous about the idea of listening to myself... (EEEK!) Karen McCombie :c)

At 4pm today (Wednesday 21st) I will be mostly going "Eeek!", as I listen back to the interview I did with Funkids radio http://tinyurl.com/683oaw8 The thing is, in my head, I think my voice is deep and interesting, but when I hear myself recorded, I sound like a baby meerkat. How does that happen? Right better go tune in the radio...* Karen McCombie :c) *And find a cushion I can hide behind while I listen in.

To celebrate 'You, Me and Thing' coming out this week, my publisher Faber decided this morning to give 10 signed copies away. Brilliant! The catch is, the competition only runs TODAY (Friday 9th September) on Twitter and CLOSES AT 4pm!!!! So if you get home from school and have access to Twitter, get, er, tweeting your entry super-speedily! Karen McCombie :c)

It was my birthday on Sunday ("Happy Birthday to meeeeee!"), and I spent it with our friends in Bath, which was very lovely. Lots of adults are a bit funny about birthdays, aren't they? It's like they think birthdays are just for kids. What fools! Me, I'm well up for doing nice stuff and getting little pressies and eating cake. OK, so I had a birthday pizza this year, instead of cake, in case you wanted to know! Though I did have some cake yesterday to celebrate the launch of 'You, Me & Thing', my younger series of books. An editor at the publishers had baked cupcakes with jellybabies on, bless her. You can just about see them here: http://tinyurl.com/3svyf5x Pizza... cupcakes... jellybabies... am I making you hungry yet? Karen McCombie :c)

...of the 'Stella Etc' competition is Jessica Jillings, who correctly guessed that the 'Etc' in the series' title refers to Stella's friends (and not Every Tiny Kitten, which would've been cute, now I think of it!). Jessica, your prize of all seven 'Stella Etc' books will be hurtling towards you soon... Karen McCombie :c) PS Have you noticed the new, changeable background patterns on my site? Aren't they gorgeous? Click from page to page and see which one you like best!
