It’s probably not a good idea for a Year 12 aspiring writer and brand
spanking new English Prefect at her geekazoid school to admit that she
is in love with the ‘Ally’s World’ series… especially when the Head of
English threatened to slit her wrists when a girl walked into her
Literature lesson holding a copy of ‘The Princess Diaries: Seventh
Heaven’, but what can I say? I love Ally. I am generally obsessed with
children’s literature, so when my ten-year-old sister came home with
‘The Past, The Present, and The Loud Loud Girl’, naturally I stole it.
And I became hooked. I have never come across a more honest and caring
family - especially when Tor tells Rowan off in ‘Butterflies, Bullies,
and Bad Bad Habits’! It is so important to promote reading to the
younger generation, and your books are one more thing that will
hopefully change minds about the reading being ‘uncool’. A truly
wonderful series…
From London’s resident Kiddie Lit prof! :o)
P.S. The ending of ‘Hassles, Heart-pings!, and Sad Happy Endings’ = SQUEEE! About time, is all I can say...
