Sad news alert...

Calling all 'Ally's World' fans; I've got some seriously sad news. The REAL Colin the three-legged cat (who was obviously the inspiration behind Ally's three-legged furball) has died. (I'm getting a bit soggy-eyed as I type this). His owner – my friend Ruth the vet – said that he'd been hopping around happily, then suddenly got ill and off his food in the space of a couple of days. She checked him over and found out he had a big tumour, and it couldn't be operated on, so she put him to sleep.
Anyway, three cheers (should that be purrs?) for Colin, one most splendid cat!!

So sorry to hear about poor Collin. He's no longer in pain now.
My cat sadly had to be put to sleep last week. He had kidney failure. I am devestated and have cried loads.
It so sad when an animal dies, they become part of the family.

Colin was always my favourite character I've even been on his website! It's such a shame I hate it when pets die! My grandpa's dog (Sophie) died a couple of months ago, my mum and dad had a cat called Gizmo which died 11 years ago + my mum was allergic 2 my kitten (Tabby) and it went 2 live with my Auntie (whch is almost as bad as it dieing since I never got 2 c it!) and my friends cat Angel died a couple of months ago!!!!!!!! So r.i.p 2 all those dead dogs and cats (not 4getting cats whose owners mum's have been allergic to them so they were sent away!)especially Colin!!!

I'm soooo sorry Karen and Ruth, it must be really sad to loose your fave feline friend. I've got a cat, called Zellah- a tabby- and i couldnt bear it if she died. she is my furry alarm clock in the morning and my sholdour to cry on when i dont have my friends with me. She is the best cat EVER and she loves to read your books with me!!! Your books are brilliant. they make me want to keep reading. At the moment i'm reading Frankie, Peaches and Me, which is brill too. I moved down from London to Cornwall when i was 6, i dont remember it that much but i LOVE cornwall. its briiliant to be so close to the beach, instead of in London where you have to travel for ages to get to a beach. i still go to london sometimes but im always glad to come back. it must be awful for stella, having to leave all her best friends behind.
Anyway, what i am trying to say, in a very long way, is that your books are great, and i hope you keep writing them.
THANKYOU sooo much for writing the best books in the world!!

I'm sssooooooooo sad that colin died. I've had four cats and they've all died! I was ssoooo sad and we're never getting a cat againn. My third cat (Abby) was lost after we had her for 2 weeks. Then my friend found her (thanks Aifric!) and then my mum and dad went out one night and Abby came flying off of a truck and onto my mum's car's window. I cried for ages!

Im sorry your cat died. my cat, chocolate, has some kind of wierd mite thing on his ear, so we took him to the vets. anyway, i love your books and i read them a lot coz i wanna be an author when i grow up. my fave book of yours is the one in ally's world where sandie's mum goes into labour, and sandie and billy start to go out. so if u could just say hi 2 me and my best m8 zoe who totally and fabulously brill.

So sorry about your cat, but hey! - he lived a full and happy life here on earth - well, as full as your life CAN BE with three legs....er...anyway - UGH!!! This doesn't sound sympathetic at ALL! Sorry. You know what I mean though....I hope. Okay, I'm just going to curl up into a small corner and quietly Die of Embarrassment. Anyway, Kind Regards and don't worry Too Much...I'm sure someone up there will look after him.
